Prof Monty Duggal

Professor of Paediatric Dentistry :  Senior Consultant : Discipline of Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry : Faculty of Dentistry  :  National University Health System

 

Prof. Duggal obtained his dental degree and MDS in Paediatric Dentistry from India. He then immigrated to the United Kingdom and obtained his FDSRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and his PhD from University of Leeds.  He was appointed Professor and Chair of Child Dental Health at Leeds Dental Institute in 1999 where he oversaw a large postgraduate programme in Paediatric Dentistry which has international acclaim.  In January 2017 he was appointed as Professor of Paediatric Dentistry in Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore.

Professor Duggal has published over 150 research papers in international journals and is author of “Restorative Techniques in Paediatric Dentistry, which has been published in 7 languages and has sold over 16,000 copies worldwide.  He is also a co-author of a textbook on Dental Traumatology and has Co-Edited “Paediatric Dentistry” by Oxford, now in its 4th edition, and more recently “Paediatric Dentistry at a Glance”, published by Blackwell Willey.  He has administered research grants totaling over seven million pounds and is an internationally recognised researcher and clinician with main research interest is Cariology and Translation Research in Clinical Paediatric Dentistry, including dental traumatology. 

Apart from Paediatric Dentistry his main interest is playing and watching cricket and any time spare from work and family is devoted to this important activity.

Mr. James Spencer 

Orthodontic Consultant and Postgraduate Dental Dean- Yorkshire and Humber deanery

James Spencer qualified at Bristol University and then undertook his orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Institute and Kingston Hospital. He was appointed Consultant at Pinderfields Hospital and Leeds Dental Institute in 1999 and is also Dental Dean at the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery, with responsibility for specialty and foundation trainees. In his “spare time” he is also an examiner for the Intercollegiate Membership in Orthodontics and has previously been an examiner for the ISFE. His clinical interest lies in facial deformity, distraction osteogenesis and cleft lip and palate.

Dr Paul Ashley 

Academic Lead for Paediatric Dentistry at UCL Eastman Dental Institute and a Paediatric Dentistry Consultant at UCLH.

Paul Ashley is Academic Lead for Paediatric Dentistry at UCL Eastman Dental Institute and a Paediatric Dentistry Consultant at UCLH. He leads on delivery of a full time DDent programme and a unique distance learning MSc in Paediatric Dentistry. His primary research interest is in developing restorative materials for children, evidence-based dentistry and the impact of oral health in sport.

Dr. Jinous Tahmassebi

BDS (Newcastle), MDentSci (Leeds), FDS RCS (Edinburgh) FRCD (Canada), PhD (Leeds) 

 

Since qualifying Jinous has held positions in National Health Service, Community Dental Service and university posts as well as setting up her own referral specialist private practice. At present Jinous is an Associate Professor in Paediatric Dentistry and Programme Director for postgraduates’ programmesin Paediatric Dentistry at Leeds school of dentistry which has been accredited by EAPD in 2016 as the “gold standard in Europe”.

Jinous has lectured extensively regionally, nationally and internationally and have provided over 200 courses for postgraduate deaneries around the country including many hands-on courses which are based on research findings and evidence based practice. She is the UK councillor for EAPD and she is a member of Senate at university of Leeds.Jinous has been involved in many research studies through her graduate students and currently is involved with supervision 12 PhD, Professional Doctorate and Integrated PhD students. Jinous’ main research focus is sedation and management of anxiety in children.

Dr. Abdulaziz AlHasan, DDS. MS. 

Peadiatric Dentist, Consultant. Kuwait.

 

Dr Abdeulaziz: Graduated from the USA, University of Missouri with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery . Finished a residency program un Pediatric Dentistry and a Masters in Oral Sciences from the State University of New York diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Worked previously as an assistant proffered at the Faculty of Dentistry- Kuwait University . Currently working as a consultant and a medical manager of Asnan Kids Dental Center- Kuwait . Active member in the American Academy of PediatryDentistry. Has 8 published scientific articles in the field of Pediatric Dentistry in many international journals such as Pediatric Dentistry, European Archives of Pediatric Dentistry, Dental traumatology and International Endodontic Journal . Active in publishing dental preventive and educational books

DR. Abhinav Talekar

 

Dr Abhianv Talekar completed his masters in Pediatric dentistry from MARDC Pune India. Besides practicing as a private practitioner at Kids Dental Corner, Camp ; he is also working as an Associate Professor and Postgraduate Guide in M A Rangoonawala Dental College and Dental Research Institute, India. He has shown avid interest in interceptive orthodontics and crowns in pediatric dentistry. His research done to evaluate clinical success of various crowns in primary molar is very well received.

He has worked on dental status of child undergoing chemotherapy at various cancer hospital. He is one of the youngest international speaker in pediatric dentistry representing India.
